Types of Massage
SWEDISH MASSAGE & DEEP MUSCLE THERAPY
A therapeutic massage consisting of continuous efflourage strokes, deep kneading and stretching to tight muscles, lasting anywhere from thirty minutes to one hour.
Benefits: Reduces stress levels, stretches and tones muscles, helps the body to maintain homeostasis.
MYOFASCIAL RELEASE
A technique designed to stretch and release the fascia tissue, a continuous web-like sheath that covers our muscles and organs, to release restrictions due to previous injuries.
Benefits: Fascia tissue can become restricted and matted for various reasons. IE: birth, a fall, which in return causes severe pain. M.F.R. can release these restrictions and therefore end the cycle of pain.
REFLEXOLOGY
This technique consists of compression, using the thumbs to apply firm pressure to specific points on the bottom of the feet. A natural healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the hands, feet, and ears which correspond to every part, gland, and organ of the body.
Benefits: Relaxation and release of tension, improved circulation, promotes the natural function of the body.
SOFT TISSUE THERAPY
The soft tissue of our bodies include muscles, tendons, and ligaments. When one or more of these becomes out of balance our overall state of wellness can be affected. Chronic head aches, low back pain, reduced flexibility and so much more can often be treated with this form of therapy. Working down deeply layer by layer through the soft tissue you will feel your body begin the process of recovery. Sessions can either be limited to specific areas or target the known problem areas while also working on the related tissue from head to toe. Scented or unscented lotion (your preference) is used to control the friction of working deep.
